I've heard great things about this film, but I'd probably come out traumatized and blubbing like a girl !!!
Admitedly, in the external aspect of the presentation, looks like something to be avoided at all costs. Like Benigni's "La Vita e' Bella". I'll wait till is on TV.
I didn't like La Vita E Bella, primarily because Benigni acts like a retard throughout. This one is different. I don't think you can compare the two just because of their subject matter.
Vera Farmiga is absolutely amazing as the mother of the German kid, and terribly sexy by the way.
I like sexy nazis!

I am surprised you took to this film.
I just came back and didn't think very highly of it.
I thought Vera Farmiga was particularly awful in a movie full of awful performances.
She is very sexy though.
